NAS Alameda -- The Department of the Navy (Navy), in coordination with state and federal environmental regulatory agencies, encourages the public to comment on the Proposed Plan for former NAS Alameda Operable Unit 2B, Installation Restoration (IR) Sites 3, 4, 11and 21, located on Alameda Point in Alameda, California. The Proposed Plan presents the preferred alternatives of excavation and institutional controls for contaminated soil and in-situ treatment and institutional controls for the groundwater at Operable Unit 2B.
PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD
The Navy invites interested members of the public to review and comment on the Proposed Plan during the 30-day public comment period, held from April 30 through May 31, 2013. Public comments must be submitted in writing and postmarked or e-mailed no later than May 31, 2013, or provided during the public meeting on May 15, 2013.
