The Department of the Navy, in cooperation with the Maryland Department of the Environment, has completed the fourth Five-Year Reviews of the remedies implemented at the Former Naval Surface Warfare Center - Carderock Division, Annapolis Detachment, Former David Taylor Research Center (DTRC) and Bay Head Road Annex (BHRA). The Five-Year Reviews were performed by the Department of the Navy as part of their Installation Restoration Program, following U.S. EPA guidelines under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA).  Navy and CERCLA guidelines call for this review every five years to ensure protection of human and ecological communities in the area.  DTRC and BHRA Sites were evaluated to determine whether the selected remedies are effective and found to be protective of human health and the environment.  The Five-Year Review Reports were completed in May 2020 (DTRC) and June 2020 (BHRA). The documents are available for download at: https://www.bracpmo.navy.mil/brac_bases/northeast/Former_Naval_Surface_Warfare_Center_Annapolis/ documents.html  If you have any questions, or wish to discuss any project, please contact Ms. Dawn M.
