The Former Picnic Pond Stormwater Retention System is located in the northeastern portion of the former base, north of Purinton Road and east of of Orion Street. Sediment contamination at the Former Picnic Pond Stormwater Retention System occurred as a result of its historical use as a stormwater retention system to channel and control stormwater drainage on the former base, as well as from the historical use of the Orion Street Skeet Range.
