Navy Welcomes New Environmental Coordinator for Hunters Point Naval Shipyard

The Navy Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Program Management Office is pleased to announce that Mr. Michael Pound has joined the team as the Environmental Coordinator for the former Hunters Point Naval Shipyard (HPNS). Michael is a chemical engineer with more than 30 years of experience in environmental management and remediation. He most recently served as the Lead Remedial Project Manager for the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command for the Southwest region, where he managed cleanup programs for the Navy.

This is a return to Hunters Point for Michael. He supported and managed BRAC work at HPNS as well as at the former Naval Air Station Alameda, Naval Shipyard Mare Island and Naval Station Treasure Island.
 
Michael will be based at the BRAC PMO office in San Diego.
 
The Navy is committed to ensuring the long-term health and wellbeing of the surrounding community at Hunters Point.
