(Updated 10/26/20) Availability of Proposed Plan for Site 3 and Site 12 at Former Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Willow Grove

NASJRB Willow Grove - The Department of the Navy, in consultation with the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, announce a public comment period and public meeting on the Proposed Plans for Site 3 – Ninth Street Landfill and Site 12 South Landfill (Soil), located at Former Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base (NASJRB) Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. The Proposed Plans, which present the preferred remedial alternatives, were prepared under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) (also known as Superfund).

Public Meeting

The Navy will host a virtual public meeting for the Proposed Plans for Site 3 and Site 12 on September 23, 2020 between 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  The Navy will present the Proposed Plans and receive formal written and verbal comments on the plans during the virtual meeting.  The virtual public meeting will be recorded and an official transcript prepared and made available to the public.

Public Comment Period
The Proposed Plans are available for public review and comment from September 10 to November 25, 2020.  After the public comment period ends, and public comments are taken into account, the final remedy will be selected.  Community input is important to the remedial alternative selection process.
