Hunters Point Naval Shipyard Cleanup Fact Sheet - October 2023

19 October 2023

From Michael Pound

This fact sheet provides an update about the cleanup of petroleum that resulted from historical activities at Hunters Point Naval Shipyard (HPNS). Click here to download the complete fact sheet.
The Petroleum Program focuses on the investigation and cleanup of fuels released from historical uses. Former fueling stations, distribution lines, and maintenance areas may have leaked fuels (such as TPH-diesel, TPH-gasoline, and TPH-motor oil) into the soil and groundwater at HPNS. The San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board (SF Bay Water Board) is the lead regulatory agency overseeing the Navy’s TPH Program at HPNS.
